Hurricane Beryl Approaching Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula as a Category 3 Storm #

Hurricane Beryl is moving towards Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula as a Category 3 storm after causing significant destruction in the eastern Caribbean. The storm is expected to make landfall on Friday and then emerge in the Gulf of Mexico. Multiple areas, including Grenada, Jamaica, and the Cayman Islands, have already experienced casualties and damage. Beryl has broken records as the earliest Category 5 hurricane in the Atlantic season. Precautionary measures, including hurricane watches and warnings, are in effect across the Yucatán Peninsula, and storm surge could raise water levels by up to six feet. Northeastern Mexico and southern Texas are also at an increased risk of experiencing adverse weather conditions.
